Mesquite Millings for 2022!

 BASA will be bringing the Hammermill to the Bisbee Saturday Market, at Vista Park in Warren on Saturday October 8 from 9 AM to 1 PM. We will come the Sierra Vista Farmers Market in the Veterans Memorial Park on Fry Blvd on Thursday October 20 from 10 AM to 2 PM. Both mesquite pod millings require low humidity. Come visit us on Saturday April 24th, 2021 at the Bisbee Farmers Market from 9 AM to 1 PM at the La Ramada Steakhouse at 1948 S. Naco Hwy, Bisbee, AZ. We will have mesquite harvesting information, mesquite flour, mesquite cookies, Eat Mesquite & More cookbooks and our new Spring Harvesting guide. Many additional vendors will be there on Earth Day to promote our wonderful earth and how we can care for it. This is the 51 st Earth Day so hope to see you there! Sun Ovens will be on display.

Hammermill Mesquite Milling

Hammermill Mesquite Pod milling is scheduled for Thursday October 22 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Sierra Vista Farmer's Market and on Saturday October 24 from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Bisbee Farmer's Market. Our volunteer Hammermill training is scheduled for Sat. Oct 17th in Huachuca City. Reminders sent later and BASA is at the markets now, at least monthly. Thanks

Cochise County Gleaning

Cochise Gleaners in partnership with Baja Arizona Sustainable Agriculture strives to rescue fruit and produce in Cochise and surrounding counties.

To receive the benefit of the program you are asked to volunteer on the gleans or participate as a donor.  Donors receive 1/3 of the harvest, volunteers 1/3 and a local nonprofit 1/3.  The exception to the rule:

Mesquite gleans/milled flour:  Donor receives ¼, volunteers ¼, local nonprofit ¼ and the BASA home office: ¼.
