Mesquite Milling and More


BASA ( Baja Arizona Sustainable Agriculture) will bring the Hammer Mill to the Sierra Vista Farmer’s Market  this Thursday October 11, 2018. We will be set up at the large Ramada close to the market and should be ready to mill about 9 AM. We will stay until 2 PM if no rain occurs. Humidity needs to stay below 30% to have successful mesquite milling. Cost for milling is $2.50/gallon or $12/5 gallon bucket. BASA member cost is $1.75/gal or $8/5gal bucket. Join BASA for $25/year. We will have mesquite cookies to sample, recipes, books and mesquite flour for sale. We are bringing  Sun Solar ovens  and they will be available for purchase.

Mesquite Milling and the Weather!!

BASA plans to bring the hammermill and mill mesquite beans/pods on Thursday October 11th at the Sierra Vista Farmers Market and on Saturday October 13th at the Bisbee Farmer's Market. However, if heavy rains occur and the humidity is above 30%, we can not operate the hammermill and will need to reschedule this event. Thanks for your understanding and we will post again soon when we know our plans!
